June President's Report

Greetings from a warm Cattail!
Big doings this month, so I am issuing a President's Report a little earlier than usual.
Briefly, Carol Beals and the Building Committee have accomplished the important task of producing a legal draft of revised Articles of Incorporation. I've attached the draft here and will provide proxy and absentee ballot information in July so that at the August Annual Meeting we can entertain a motion to adopt and file the new articles.
Equally encouraging, membership fundraising has been very helpful in moving the Hall Restoration Project forward. Heiko finished digging the footers this week, and work will begin next week on the framing for the concrete and rebar for the new foundation. We remain in regular contact with Rebuilding Hollers and Samaritan's Purse, although those processes naturally move at their own pace.
And last but not least, the traditional Cattail Fourth of July ATV Parade will return this year on July 4 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a potluck at the Weller house.
Because many roads on the Deep Gap side are still not suitable for heavy ATV traffic, we will stay on the Winter Star side, turning around at the large intersection where North Fork Road reconnects with Winter Star. We also will head down to Rocky Fork and go out the paved road to the turnaround at the end of the pavement, for a bit of extra fun.
More details about the Fourth will be coming your way as we get closer, but please mark your calendars now.
